Campaspe Artists in Residence (CAIR) Program

About the CAIR Program

Council welcomes applications from early career, mid-career or established:

  • Practising artists;
  • Curators; or
  • Creative researchers

Program objectives

Campaspe Shire Council invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from artists, curators and creative researchers to participate in the Campaspe Artists in Residence (CAIR) Program.

The program supports creative practitioners by providing dedicated time, professional support and opportunities to develop their artistic practice, undertake research, explore local stories and landscapes, and strengthen connections with community and place. As part of Council's commitment to supporting First Nations-led arts and cultural practice and acknowledging the contribution First Nations artists make to cultural life in our region, at least one Artists in Residence opportunity has been identified for First Nations artists.

The residencies are designed to support a diverse range of creative activities, including research, experimentation, skill development, creative production and community-connected practice.

Applications are welcomed from practitioners working across all artistic disciplines and early, mid and established career stages.

Priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate:

  • Artistic merit and commitment to professional practice;
  • A connection to Campaspe Shire or a strong authentic interest in our local places, stories and communities;
  • A clear and achievable residency proposal;
  • Potential to contribute to the cultural life of the region through creative development, research, collaboration or community engagement.
